tasdiya (clapping), and from it is the saying of Amr ibn al-Itnabah:
'And they remained all together having a clamor of whistling.'
He twisted the house by the tasdiyah, meaning: by clapping.

1701: 9076: Allah: 1: In the Sahih, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Usamah when that man confronted him with a sword, and he (the man) said: 'There is no god but Allah,' yet he (Usamah) struck him and killed him. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he said to Usamah: 'Did you kill him after he said: There is no god but Allah? And how will you manage [the situation regarding] there is no god but Allah on the Day of Resurrection?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, he only said it out of fear.' He said: 'Did you not split open his heart?' And he kept saying and repeating to him: 'Who will [save] you from [the implications of] there is no god but Allah on the Day of Resurrection?' Usamah said: 'Until I wished that I had not embraced Islam until that day.'
