Translation · EN

1778: 10025. Tabuk: 1: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/276).

  1. The Truth (al-Haqq): 2: Al-Qurtubi said in his interpretation of this verse: It is an indication of the emphasis of the sin through deviance, stubbornness, and pride against submission.

1779: 10031. Submissive (Saghirun): 1: Ibn Kathir said regarding His saying (the Almighty): "Submissive," meaning: humiliated, despised, and disgraced. Therefore, it is not permissible to honor the people of the Dhimmah (protected subjects) nor to elevate them over the Muslims; rather, they must be wretched, submissive, and miserable. As it was narrated in Sahih Muslim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not initiate the greeting of peace (Salam) to the Jews and the Christians, and if you meet one of them on a path, force them to its narrowest part."

It was narrated by Muslim in (al-Salam, H/13), Abu Dawud in (al-Adab, Chapter "27"), al-Tirmidhi (H/1602, 1700), Ahmad (2/266), 'Abd al-Razzaq (19457), al-Mishkat (4635), Ithaf (6/195, 277), al-Kanz (25338), al-Targhib (3/435).
