: 6737: You have sworn: 2: Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh said: We were told by Muhammad ibn Ali, we were told by Muhammad ibn Ja'far al-Ash'ari, we were told by al-Haytham ibn Khalid al-Qurashi, we were told by Yazid ibn Qays, from Isma'il ibn Yahya, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ibn Abbas who said: When the verse of the expiations was revealed, Hudhayfah said: O Messenger of Allah, do we have a choice? He said: "You have a choice; if you wish you may free [a slave], if you wish you may clothe [the poor], and if you wish you may feed [the poor]; and whoever does not find [the means], then fasting for three consecutive days."
Narrated by Ibn Kathir (2/91), and he said: "This is a very rare (gharib) hadith."
1196: 6744: Al-Firdaws: 1: It was narrated from Buraydah ibn al-Husayb al-Aslami, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Whoever plays with dice (nardashir) is as if he had dyed his hand in the flesh and blood of a swine."
