1826: 10301. What is said to him: 1: Al-Jawhari said: It is said 'rijal udhun' (men of ear) if he listens to everyone's speech; it is used equally for singular and plural. Ali ibn Abi Talhah narrated from Ibn Abbas regarding the saying of the Almighty: "He is an ear (udhun)," he said: A listener and acceptor. This verse was revealed regarding 'Attab ibn Qushayr; he said: "Muhammad is nothing but an ear, accepting everything said to him." It is also said it was Bintal ibn al-Harith, as stated by Ibn Ishaq.
