Translation · EN

1856: 10200. The Hereafter: 1: Al-Qurtubi said: Among people are those who would not laugh, out of concern for themselves and the corruption of their condition in their own belief, due to the intensity of their fear, even if they were righteous servants. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, and you would go out to the high roads crying out to Allah the Exalted. I wish I were a tree that is cut down."

Authentic (Sahih). Agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhari (2/43), Muslim in the Eclipse Prayer (H/1), al-Tirmidhi (H/2312), al-Bayhaqi (3/322, 10/26), Ibn Abi Shaybah (15/231), al-Manthur (6/297), and al-Kanz (21551).

1857: 10204. Those who stay behind: 1: Ibn Jarir said in the interpretation of this verse: This is not correct because the plural of 'women' (nisa') is not formed with the ya and nun (i.e., 'nisin'), and if women were intended, it would have said 'faq'udu ma'a al-khawalif' (stay behind with those who stay behind) or 'al-khalifat'.

: 10206. Upon them: 2: Tafsir Ibn Kathir (2/378) and Tafsir al-Qurtubi (5/3057).

1858: 10207. And fear: 1: Authentic (Sahih). Narrated by al-Bukhari (2/121, 6/85), al-Nasa'i (4/64, 68), al-Tirmidhi (H/3097), Ahmad (1/16), al-Tabari (10/142), al-Baghawi (3/131), al-Hilyah (1/44), al-Kanz (858, 2902, 4392), Ibn Kathir (4/133), and al-Manthur (3/264).

: 10200. Themselves: 2: The interpretation of the equivalent of this noble verse has already been presented, and to Allah belongs all praise and favor.
