1895: 10057. To Allah (Lillah): 1: Qatada said regarding the verse: It was mentioned to us that a man from the companions of the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: "O Prophet of Allah, among our fathers were those who upheld good neighborliness, maintained family ties, liberated prisoners, and fulfilled pledges; should we not seek forgiveness for them?" He said: The Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—replied: "Yes, by Allah, indeed I seek forgiveness for my father just as Abraham sought forgiveness for his father."
