Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim

Translation · EN

1915: 10145. Hypocrisy (al-nifaq): 1: Tafsir al-Qurtubi: (5/3138).

: 10148. Twice (marratayn): 2: Al-Tabari said in the interpretation of this verse: They are being tested. Mujahid said: Through drought and adversity. Atiyya said: Through illnesses and pains, which are the heralds of death. Qatada, al-Hasan, and Mujahid said: Through raiding and jihad alongside the Prophet (peace be upon him).

1916: 10151. They remember (yadhkurun): 1: See: The previous footnote and the one before it.

: 10155. Anyone (ahad): 2: Al-Qurtubi said in the interpretation of this verse: "Ma" is an expletive, and the intent is the hypocrites. That is, if they come to the Messenger while he is reciting a Quran that has been revealed regarding them, exposing their scandal or the scandal of one of them, they begin looking at one another with a look of terror, by way of verification, saying: "Does anyone see you if you speak of this?" so that he might relay it to Muhammad. That is due to their ignorance of his prophethood, and that Allah informs him of whatever He wills of His unseen.

: 10155. The hypocrites (al-munafiqun): 3: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/402).

1917: 10158. The illicit intercourse (al-safah): 1: Narrated by al-Bayhaqi (7/190) and al-Majma' (8/214), and he attributed it to al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat". In its chain is Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ali, for whom al-Hakim vouched in al-Mustadrak, though he has been criticized; the rest of his narrators are trustworthy. See also: al-Manthur (3/294), Matalib (257), Jara (428), Nasb al-Raya (3/213), Dala'il (1/11), al-Kanz (31868, 31871, 32016, 32017), Bidayah (2/256), and Jurjan (361).

1918: 10163. One of them who is a believer (mu'minuhum): 1: I say: This is why it came in the hadith narrated through various paths from him (peace be upon him) that he said: "I was sent with the lenient monotheistic faith (al-hanafiyya al-samha)."
