1965: 10457. For death (lil-mawt): 1: It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Indeed, among the servants of Allah are servants whom the prophets and martyrs envy." It was asked: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah, so that we may love them? He said: "They are a people who loved one another for the sake of Allah without wealth or lineage. Their faces are light, upon pulpits of light. They do not fear when people fear, and they do not grieve when people grieve." Then he recited: "Unquestionably, the allies of Allah—there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve." I say: It was narrated from Abu Dharr that he said: O Messenger of Allah, a man does a deed and people praise him for it and commend him for it. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "That is the immediate glad tiding for the believer." Authentic. Narrated by Muslim in (Al-Birr, h/166), Ahmad (5/156, 157, 168), and Al-Mishkat.
