2037: 10914. A month: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/446).

: 10915. Noah: 2: The previous source.

2038: 10922. To his son: 1: Imam Ahmad said: Abu Ja'far narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Habib al-Azdi narrated to us from his father, Habib, from 'Abd Allah, from Shibl, from Abu Hurayrah, who said:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) passed by some people of the Jews who were fasting on the day of Ashura, so he said: "What is this fast?" They said: "This is the day on which Allah saved Moses and the Children of Israel from drowning and on which Pharaoh drowned. And this is the day the ship rested upon al-Judi, so Noah and Moses—peace be upon them—fasted out of gratitude to Allah, the Almighty." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "I am more entitled to Moses and more entitled to fast this day," so he fasted and said to his companions: "Whoever among you has started the day fasting, let him complete his fast, and whoever has consumed food from his family, let him complete the rest of his day."

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/447).

Ibn Kathir said: "This is a gharib (rare) hadith from this chain, and part of it has supporting evidence in the Sahih."

2040: From us: 1: Ibn Kathir said in the interpretation of this verse: Allah the Almighty informs us of what was said to Noah (peace be upon him) when the ship rested upon al-Judi, regarding the salutation upon him and upon those with him from among the believers, and upon every believer from his progeny until the Day of Resurrection.

2042: 10932. Painful: 1: Al-Qurtubi said in the interpretation of this verse: Every disbeliever until the Day of Resurrection; this was narrated from Muhammad ibn Ka'b. The meaning according to this is: And upon the progeny of nations among those who are with you, and the progeny of nations whom We shall provide for.
