Translation · EN

2138: 11573: They invite me to it: 1: Al-Qurtubi said in the interpretation of this verse: She returned to soliciting him in their presence, tore away the veil of modesty, and threatened him with prison if he did not comply. She only did this when she no longer feared blame or speech, contrary to her initial affair when it was between her and him.

2139: 11581: Of what they conceal: 1: Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, protected Yusuf with a great protection and guarded him, so he refrained from her with the utmost restraint and chose prison over that. This is the height of the stations of perfection; for despite his youth, his beauty, and his perfection, his mistress—who is the wife of the Aziz of Egypt—invites him, and she is at the pinnacle of beauty, wealth, and status, yet he refrains from that and chooses prison out of fear of Allah and hope for His reward.

Therefore, it is established in the two Sahihs that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Seven whom Allah will shade in His shade on the day when there is no shade but His: a just leader, a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, a man whose heart is attached to the mosque when he leaves it until he returns to it, two men who loved each other for the sake of Allah meeting upon it and parting upon it, a man who gave charity and hid it such that his left hand did not know what his right hand had spent, a man who was invited by a woman of status and beauty and said: 'I fear Allah', and a man who remembered Allah in solitude and his eyes overflowed." Reported by al-Bukhari (1/168, 2/138, 8/126), Muslim (Zakat, H/91), al-Tirmidhi (H/2391), al-Nasa'i (8/222), Ahmad (2/439), al-Tamhid (2/280, 281), and Ibn Khuzaymah (358).
