1224: 6906: Ten: 1: Ibn Kathir said: As for the Bahirah, it is the one whose ears they would slit, so neither his wife, nor his daughters, nor anyone from his household would benefit from its wool, nor its leather, nor its fur, nor its milk. When it died, they would share in it.

1225: 6915: His deeds: 1: Hasan (Good). Narrated by Abu Dawud in (al-Malahim, Chapter: Commanding the Good and Forbidding the Evil) and al-Tirmidhi (H/3058), who said: This is a Hasan Gharib (good but singular) hadith. It was also narrated by Ibn Majah in (al-Fitan, Chapter: The Statement of the Almighty: "O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] your own souls").

1226: 6919: The punishment: 1: Authentic (Sahih). Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (H/3057), who said: "This is a Hasan Sahih (good and authentic) hadith." And al-Qurtubi: (4/2338).

1227: 6922: The verse: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/109) and Tafsir al-Qurtubi: (4/2341).

1228: 6928: And the Jews: 1: Al-Qurtubi said regarding this verse: Commanding the good and forbidding the evil is obligatory when there is hope of acceptance, or hope of repelling the oppressor even with force, provided the one who commands does not fear harm befalling him personally, or a tribulation (fitna) he might bring upon the Muslims, either by splitting their unity or by causing harm to a group of people. If such is feared, then [the verse] "Upon you is your own souls" is definitive and it is mandatory to stop at that point.
