: 12085: This Qur'an: 3: The previous source.

2216: 12088: Folded: 1: In the hadith: "The seven heavens and what is in them and what is between them in the Kursi (Footstool) is nothing but like a ring cast in a desolate land, and the Kursi in the Glorious Throne is like that ring in that desolate land." Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/499).

: 12093: Ascended: 2: Ibn Kathir said: "It is as it came, without specifying 'how' (takyif), nor likening (tashbih), nor negating (ta'til), nor representing (tamthil); exalted is Allah with great exaltation." (Al-Tafsir: 2/499).

2217: 12096: The Throne: 1: Its interpretation has already passed in Surah al-Baqarah.

: 12096: Appointed time (musamma): 2: Al-Qurtubi said regarding His saying: "Each runs for an appointed time," meaning: until a known time, which is the annihilation of the world and the occurrence of the Hour, at which the sun will be folded up, the moon will be eclipsed, the stars will be darkened, and the celestial bodies will be scattered.

Ibn Abbas said: He intended by the 'appointed time': their degrees and positions which they reach and do not exceed. It was also said: The meaning of the 'appointed time' is that the moon completes its orbit in a month, and the sun in a year.

2218: 12105: His left: 1: Hasan (sound). Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (H/3369), who said: This is a hasan gharib (sound yet singular) hadith; we do not know it attributed to the Prophet (marfu') except through this chain. It was narrated by Ahmad (3/124), al-Mishkat (1923), al-Targhib (2/30), al-Kanz (16240), al-Manthur (1/354), Ithaf (8/264), al-Qurtubi (10/90), Ibn Kathir (1/477, 8/339), al-Mughni 'an Haml al-Asfar (3/287), Ithafat (252), and Bidayah (1/21).
