These three verses are, according to the masters of semantics (Ahl al-Ma'ani), among the most intricate in the Qur'an in terms of grammar, meaning, and legal ruling. Ibn Atiyya said: "This is the statement of one who has not attained clarity regarding their interpretation," and this is evident in his book, may Allah have mercy on him.

1231: 6941: Commencement: 1: Da'if (Weak). Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (H/3059). Al-Tirmidhi said: "This is a Gharib (singular) hadith, and its chain of narration (isnad) is not authentic. Abu al-Nadr, from whom Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated this hadith, is in my estimation Muhammad ibn al-Sa'ib al-Kalbi, whose kunya is Abu al-Nadr, and the scholars of hadith have abandoned him; he is the author of the Tafsir. I heard Muhammad ibn Isma'il [al-Bukhari] saying: Muhammad ibn al-Sa'ib al-Kalbi is surnamed Abu al-Nadr, and we do not know of any narration from Salim Abu al-Nadr al-Madani from Abu Salih, the mawla of Umm Hani.
