: 12970: Adam: 2: Ibn Kathir said: The Exalted informs about Dhu al-Qarnayn: "Then he followed a way," meaning: then he pursued a path from the east of the earth until, when he reached between the two barriers, which are two facing mountains with a gap between them from which Gog and Magog emerge upon the lands of the Turks. They cause corruption therein, destroying the crops and the offspring. Gog and Magog are from the descendants of Adam, peace be upon him, as is established in the two Sahihs: "Allah the Exalted says: 'O Adam,' and he will say: 'Here I am at Your service, and all goodness is in Your hands.' He will say: 'Send forth the contingent of the Fire.' He will say: 'And what is the contingent of the Fire?' He will say: 'From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine are for the Fire and one for Paradise.' At that moment, the young will turn old, and every pregnant female will cast her burden. He said: 'Verily, among you are two nations that, in whatever they have been present, they have increased it: Gog and Magog.'" See (Tafsir Ibn Kathir: 3/103).
