1145: 6444: Retaliation (al-qisas): 1: Imam Ahmad said: Muhammad ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik that al-Rubayyi', the paternal aunt of Anas, broke the incisor tooth of a young girl. They requested that the people pardon her, but they refused. They went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and he said: "Retaliation." He (the narrator) said: Then he said, "No, by the One who sent you with the truth, her incisor tooth shall not be broken." He said: So the people were pleased, they pardoned, and they abandoned the retaliation. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then said: "Indeed, there are among the servants of Allah those who, if they were to swear by Allah, He would fulfill it for them."
