Volume 12 · Page 55

Translation · EN

1374: 7799: The disbelievers: 2: Tafsir Ibn Kathir (2/167) and al-Durr (3/343).

1374: 7806: The doubters: 1: Ibn Kathir said in the interpretation of this verse: 'So if you are in doubt, of that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. Indeed, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.' This is a conditional statement, and a condition does not necessitate its occurrence. For this reason, it is narrated from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: 'I do not doubt, and I do not ask.' Narrated by Ibn Kathir (2/167), 'Abd al-Razzaq (10211), and al-Manthur (3/317).

1376: 7817: For you: 1: Tafsir 'Abd al-Razzaq (1/209).

: 7823: Your paternal aunts: 2: Surah al-Nisa, verse 23.

1377: 7824: The same: 1: Tafsir 'Abd al-Razzaq (1/210).

: 7828: The same: 2: The previous source.

1378: 7832: Disobedience: 1: Hasan (sound). Narrated by Abu Dawud in (Sacrifices, Chapter: On the Slaughters of the People of the Book) and al-Tirmidhi (H/3069), who said: 'This is a hasan gharib (sound but rare) hadith.'

: 7833: Carrion: 2: Tafsir Ibn Kathir (2/169).

: 7836: The Magians: 3: The previous source.

1379: 7837: For you: 1: Surah al-Ma'idah, verse 5.

: 7837: The Book: 2: I say: This school of thought has been substantiated by what Abu Dawud narrated in 'al-Marasil' from the hadith of Thawr ibn Yazid from al-Salt al-Sadusi, the freed slave of Suwayd ibn Maymun, one of the Tabi'un (Successors) whom Abu Hatim ibn Hibban mentioned in his book 'al-Thiqat' (The Trustworthy Reporters), who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: 'The slaughtered animal of a Muslim is lawful, whether he mentioned the name of Allah or did not mention it; for if he did mention it, he would not have mentioned anything but the name of Allah.' This is a mursal (hadith with a missing link in the chain) which is supported by what was narrated by al-Daraqutni.
