thousand magicians, and they cast seventy thousand ropes and seventy thousand staves, until it appeared to him, due to their magic, that they were moving. For this reason, the Almighty said: "And they produced a great magic." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir: 2/237).

: 8809: Abased (saghirin): 2: Al-Qurtubi said regarding the saying of the Almighty: "They were returned abased," meaning: The people of Pharaoh and Pharaoh himself were returned, humiliated, subdued, and defeated. As for the magicians, they had believed.

He replied: "Yes, he used to worship something that he had placed around his neck."
