Translation · EN

2916: 16550: The predecessors: 1: It has already been mentioned in Surah "Al-Mu'minun" that the prophets used to bring the matter of the Resurrection near as an exaggeration in warning, and everything that is to come is near.

2917: 16565: For you: 1: Tafsir al-Qurtubi (7/4946) and Tafsir Mujahid (2/475).

2918: 16567: He knows: 1: His saying, "He knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare," meaning: what their breasts hide and what they show of matters.

2919: 16567: And the earth: 1: Al-Hasan said: The "absent" (ghā'ibah) here refers to the Resurrection. It is also said: It refers to what was absent from them of the punishment of the heavens and the earth, as narrated by al-Naqqash. Ibn Shajar said: The "absent" here refers to everything that Allah Almighty has hidden from His creation and kept unseen from them. This is general, and the feminine ta (in "ghā'ibah") was added as an indication of the collective, meaning: there is no matter absent from the creation except that Allah is cognizant of it, and He has recorded it in the Mother of the Book (al-Umm al-Kitab) with Him, so how could it be hidden from Him what these people conceal and what they declare?

2920: 16577: Once: 1: See Surah "Al-Baqarah," verse 8.

: 16578: In blood: 2: Authentic, agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhari (9/3), Muslim in (Al-Qasamah, H/28), al-Nasa'i (7/84), Ibn Majah (H/2615, 2617), Ahmad (1/388, 442), Ibn Abi Shaybah (9/426), al-Tabarani (10/234), al-Targhib (3/292), Ibn Kathir (2/332), al-Hilyah (7/87, 88), Sharh al-Sunnah (10/149), al-Mishkat (3448), Ibn al-Mubarak in "Al-Zuhd" (478), al-Manthur (2/198), al-Khatib (3/69), and al-Kanz (39887, 39929).
