3011: 17116: For his Hereafter: 1: From this is the Hadith: "What is Ihsan (excellence)?" He said: "That you worship Allah as if you see Him." It was also said: It is a command to maintain ties with the poor.
Ibn al-'Arabi said: There are many sayings regarding it, the sum of which is utilizing the blessings of Allah in the obedience of Allah. Malik said: It is eating and drinking without extravagance.
Ibn al-'Arabi said: I see that Malik intended to refute those who are excessive in worship and asceticism, for the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to love sweets, drink honey, consume roasted meat, and drink cold water.
