He attributed it to Ahmad and Al-Tabarani, except that he said in An-Nisa': "Indeed, Allah has commanded me to command you to fear Allah and to speak a word that is right (sadidan)." It contains Layth ibn Abi Sulaym, whose hadith is inconsistent (mudtarib), but the rest of their narrators are narrators of the Sahih.

: 17813: What it bears: 4: It was narrated from Ibn Abbas—may Allah be pleased with them—he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Allah the Exalted said to Adam: 'O Adam, I offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth, and they could not bear it. Will you bear it with what is in it?' He asked, 'And what is in it, O Lord?' He replied, 'If you bear it, you will be rewarded, and if you squander it, you will be punished.' So he accepted it with what was in it, and he did not remain in Paradise but for the duration between the First prayer (Dhuhr) and the 'Asr prayer until Satan cast him out of it.'"
