the slaves into marriage and lock the doors upon them.

: 14448: His virtue: 2: From the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Three [types of people] whom it is a right upon Allah to aid: the Mujahid (warrior) in the path of Allah, the one who marries seeking chastity, and the Mukatab (slave under a contract of manumission) who seeks to fulfill his payment."

Authentic. Narrated by al-Nasa'i (6/16), Ibn Majah (h/2518), Ahmad (2/437), and al-Bayhaqi (7/78).

: 14449: His virtue: 3: And it was authenticated by Sheikh al-Albani.

2583: 14453: Good: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (3/286).

Ibn Kathir said: This is how al-Bukhari mentioned it as a Ta'liq (hanging hadith). It was narrated by Abd al-Razzaq: Ibn Jurayj informed us, saying: I said to 'Ata': "Is it an obligation upon me, if I know he has wealth, that I should enter into a Kitabah (manumission) contract with him?" He said: "I do not see it as anything other than an obligation." Ibn Jarir said: Muhammad ibn Bashar narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik that Sirin wanted him to enter into a Kitabah contract with him, but he hesitated. So 'Umar said to him: "You must enter into a Kitabah contract with him."

Its chain of narration is authentic. See: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (3/287).

2584: 14457: The Muslims: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (3/388).

2586: 14502: Has come to you: 1: Ibn Kathir said in the interpretation of this verse: It is the portion that Allah has ordained for them from the wealth of Zakat. This is the opinion of al-Hasan, Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam and his father, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan, and it was favored by Ibn Jarir. Ibrahim al-Nakha'i said: "Encourage the people regarding it, for the slave and others." And Ibn Abbas said: "Allah commanded the believers to assist in [the freeing of] necks."
