at them, for that is among the most hideous of things and furthest from the truth. At-tabarruj (displaying adornment) is uncovering and appearing to the eyes, and from it is [the word] "suruj mushayyadah" (lofty towers/fortified towers), and the towers of the sky, and the walls, meaning there is no partition preventing their visibility.

2645: 14869: Together: 1: Imam Ahmad narrated: Yazid ibn 'Abd Rabbih told us, al-Walid ibn Muslim told us, from Wahshi ibn Harb, from his father, from his grandfather, that a man said to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: "We eat but are not satisfied." He said: "Perhaps you eat separately. Gather for your food and mention the name of Allah, and it will be blessed for you." Others said: Whether they give him permission or not, he may eat because the kinship between them serves as their permission. This is because in that kinship there is an affection, and their souls permit [him] to eat from their belongings, and they are pleased with that if they know.
2647: 14875: Their keys: 1: Regarding His saying, the Almighty: "Or [the houses] whose keys you possess," meaning: from what you have chosen and what has come into your possession. The greatest of that is what a man owns in his house and under his lock, and that is the interpretation of al-Dahhak, Qatadah, and Mujahid. According to the majority of exegetes, the verse includes agents, slaves, and hired workers.
