It was narrated by Ahmad (1/447), Ibn Abi Shaybah (9/96), al-Tabarani (10/133), al-Manthur (4/178), Ithaf (8/164), al-Kanz (5431, 29260, 29261), Ibn Kathir (685, 6/134), al-Mughni 'an Haml al-Asfar (3/235), al-Khafa' (2/265), and al-Majma' (10/252), and he attributed it to al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" and "al-Awsat"; its narrators have been deemed reliable, although there is disagreement regarding some of them.

2728: 15396: And they do not commit adultery: 1: Authentic, agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhari (9/2, 190), Muslim in (Al-Iman/H/142), al-Bayhaqi (8/25), al-Tabari (5/28, 19/26), al-Baghawi (1/514, 5/109), and Ibn Kathir (6/135).

They differed regarding the murderer among the Muslims, as was previously explained in "al-Nisa'" and discussed in "al-Ma'idah" regarding the permissibility of delay (al-tarakhi) in making an exception (istithna') in an oath, which is the school of Ibn Abbas, using this verse as evidence.
