His saying: "And whoever delays"
1900 - My father narrated to us, al-Qa'nabi narrated to us, 'Abd Allah—meaning Ibn 'Umar—narrated to us, from Nafi', that Ibn 'Umar said: Whoever has the sun set upon him on the day regarding which Allah says: "Whoever hastens in two days, there is no sin upon him," while he is in Mina, he shall not depart until he throws the pebbles the following day.
It was narrated from 'Umar b. al-Khattab, 'Ata', Tawus, al-Hasan, 'Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz, Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, and Jabir b. Zayd that they said: Whoever does not depart on the second day until the sun sets, he shall not depart until he throws the pebbles on the following day.
1901 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Zayd b. Hubab narrated to us, from Kathir b. 'Abd Allah al-Muzani, he said: I heard Muhammad b. Ka'b saying: "And whoever delays" until the third day. Similar was narrated from al-Hasan, 'Ata', 'Ikrimah, al-Suddi, and Qatadah.
His saying: "There is no sin upon him"
[The first aspect]
1902 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, Ibn Abi Layla narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And whoever delays, there is no sin upon him," he said: In his delay.
1903 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. Ma'mar b. Ashkab al-Saffar al-Kufi in Egypt narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahim b. Sulayman narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik b. Sa'id b. Abjar, from Hammad, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqamah, from Ibn Mas'ud, that he said: "And whoever delays, there is no sin upon him," he said: Allah has forgiven him his sins. Similar was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, Abu Dharr, Mujahid, al-Sha'bi, Mu'awiyah b. Qurrah, Ibrahim, Mutarrif b. al-Shikhkhir, and Hammad b. Abi Sulayman.
1904 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "And whoever delays, there is no sin upon him."
The second aspect:
1905 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj and 'Amr b. 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, they both said: Waki' narrated to us, from Ishaq b. Yahya—meaning Ibn Talhah—he said: I heard Mujahid saying: "And whoever delays, there is no sin upon him" until the following year.
