His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills; and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing."

2464 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills"—he said: His authority.

2465 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. 'Abd Allah b. Bukayr reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to me, 'Ata' b. Dinar reported to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr regarding His saying: "All-Knowing"—he means: He is knowledgeable of them.

His saying, the Almighty: "And their prophet said to them, 'Indeed, the sign of his sovereignty...'

2466 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding "And their prophet said to them"—he means: Sham'un (Simon).

And by way of him, from al-Suddi: They said: "If you are truthful, bring us a sign that this is a king." Their prophet Sham'un said to them: "Indeed, the sign of his sovereignty is that the Ark (Tabut) will come to you, in which is tranquility from your Lord."

2467 - Muhammad b. al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Salamah reported to us, from Ibn Ishaq that the sign of his sovereignty means: his appointment as king by Allah, the Almighty and Exalted.

His saying: "That the Ark will come to you."

2468 - Al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Bakkar b. 'Abd Allah informed us, he said: We asked Wahb b. Munabbih about the Ark of Moses, what was in it and what was it? He said: It was about three cubits by two cubits.

2469 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Indeed, the sign of his sovereignty is that the Ark will come to you"—he said: The Ark and its contents were found in the house of Talut in the morning, so they believed in the prophethood of Sham'un and surrendered the kingship to Talut.

2470 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' regarding His saying: "That the Ark will come to you"—he said: It was mentioned to us that Moses left the Ark with his servant, Yusha' b. Nun (Joshua, son of Nun), while he was in the wilderness. It was mentioned to us that the angels carried it from the wilderness until they placed it in the house of Talut, so the Ark was in his house in the morning.
