2503 - Al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Ishaq b. Isma'il reported to us, Yazid b. Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatada regarding "So whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it, then he is of me," [he said]: The people drank according to the extent of their certainty.
His saying: "Except one who scoops a scoop with his hand"
2504 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Haytham b. Yaman reported to us, a man whose name he mentioned reported to us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "Except one who scoops a scoop with his hand," he said: It was sufficient for the one who scooped a scoop with his hand, and the thirst was cut off from him. Something similar was narrated from al-Suddi.
2505 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, Ahmad b. Abi al-'Abbas al-Ramli reported to us, Damrah reported to us, from Ibn Shawdhab, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "Except one who scoops a scoop with his hand," he said: With that scoop, they drank and gave water to their livestock.
2506 - Al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Ma'mar reported to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "Except one who scoops a scoop with his hand," he said: The disbelievers would drink and not be quenched, while the Muslims would scoop a single scoop and it would suffice them.
2507 - 'Ubayd Allah b. Isma'il al-Baghdadi narrated to us, Khalaf b. Hisham al-Muqri' reported to us, 'Abd al-Wahhab b. al-Khaffaf and Abu Zayd reported to us, from Abu 'Amr, who said: A 'ghurfah' (scoop) can be of broth, and a 'ghurfah' is by the hand.

2508 - Musa b. Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn b. Muhammad al-Marrudhi reported to us, Shayban al-Nahwi reported to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "So they drank from it, except a few of them," he said: The people drank according to the extent of their fatigue. As for the disbelievers, they began to drink but were not quenched, and as for the believers, a man would begin to scoop with his hand and that would quench him and suffice him. Something similar was narrated from al-Rabi'.

2509 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi', regarding His saying: "Except a few of them," he said: He means: the believers among them.

٢٥٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فَمَنْ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَمَنْ لَمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّهُ مِنِّي شَرِبَ الْقَوْمُ عَلَى قَدْرِ يَقِينِهِمْ.

٢٥٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا اله يثم بْنُ يَمَانٍ، ثنا رَجُلٌ سَمَّاهُ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِلا مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةً بِيَدِهِ وَأَجْزَأَ مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةً بِيَدِهِ، وَانْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ الْعَطَشُ. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
٢٥٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ثنا ضَمْرَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شَوْذَبٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَوْلُهُ: إِلا مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةً بِيَدِهِ قَالَ: فِي تِلْكَ الْغُرْفَةِ، مَا شَرِبُوا وَسَقَوْا دَوَابَّهُمْ.
٢٥٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أبنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «١» أبنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِلا مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةً بِيَدِهِ قَالَ: كَانَ الْكُفَّارُ يَشْرَبُونَ فَلا يَرْوَونَ، وَكَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَغْتَرِفُونَ غُرْفَةً فَيُجْزِئُهُمْ.
٢٥٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ الْخَفَّافِ، وَأَبُو زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَ الْغُرْفَةُ تَكُونُ مِنَ الْمَرَقَةِ وَالْغُرْفَةُ بِالْيَدِ.

٢٥٠٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الطُّوسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ،
قَوْلُهُ: فَشَرِبُوا مِنْهُ إلا قليلا منهم قَالَ:
شَرِبَ الْقَوْمُ عَلَى قَدْرِ تَعَبِهِمْ، فَأَمَّا الْكُفَّارُ فَجَعَلُوا يَشْرَبُونَ وَلا يَرْوَونَ، وَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَغْتَرِفُ بِيَدِهِ فَيُرْوِيهُ ذَلِكَ وَيُجْزِئُهُ. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ
