2546 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' reported to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq reported, regarding His saying: "To you in truth"—he says: With excellence.
2547 - Muhammad b. al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad b. 'Amr Zunayj reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "To you in truth"—with correctness.
His saying, the Exalted: "And you are indeed from among the messengers"
2548 - My father narrated to us, Ishaq b. Musa al-Khatmi reported to us, Yunus b. Bukayr reported to us, from Ibn Ishaq, from Husayn b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Ubayd Allah, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wrote to the Jews: "From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, the brother of Musa and his companion. Allah sent him with that with which He sent him. I adjure you by Allah, and by that which was revealed to Musa on the day of Mount Sinai, and He parted the sea for you and saved you, and destroyed your enemy, and fed you with manna and quails, and overshadowed you with clouds: Do you find in your scripture that I am the Messenger of Allah to you all? If that is the case, then fear Allah and accept Islam. And if it is not with you, then there is no obligation upon you."
2549 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas b. al-Walid al-Narsi reported to us, Yazid b. Zurayʿ reported to us, from Saʿid, from Qatadah, who said: Allah sent Muhammad to the Arabs and the non-Arabs, so the most honorable of you to Allah are the most obedient of you to Allah.

2550 - Muhammad b. 'Awf al-Homsi narrated to us, Abu Ja'far reported to us, Abu al-Mughirah reported to us, Mu'an b. Rifa'ah reported to us, from 'Ali b. Yazid, from al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah, who said: I said: "O Prophet of Allah, how many are the prophets?" He said: "One hundred and twenty-four thousand. ٢٥٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، ثنا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَوْلُهُ: عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ يَقُولُ: بِالْفَضْلِ.

٢٥٤٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْخَطْمِيُّ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَتَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى يَهُودٍ: مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، أَخي مُوسَى وَصَاحِبِهِ، بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ بِمَا بَعَثَهُ، أُنْشِدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ، وَبِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُوسَى، يَومَ طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ، وَفَلَقَ لَكُمُ الْبَحْرَ فَأَنْجَاكُمْ، وَأَهْلَكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ، وَأَطْعَمَكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَى، وَظَلَّلَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْغَمَامَ، هَلْ تَجِدُونَ فِي كِتَابِكُمْ، أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ كَافَّةً؟ فَإِنْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَذَلِكَ، فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَسْلِمُوا. وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَكُمْ، فَلَا تِبَاعَةَ عليكم.
٢٥٤٩ - حدثنا محمد بن نحيى، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: أَرْسَلَ اللَّهُ مُحَمَّدًا إِلَى الْعَرَبِ وَالْعَجَمِ، فَأَكْرَمُكُمْ على الله، أطوعهم لله.
قوله تَعَالَى: تِلْكَ الرُّسُلُ
٢٥٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، ثنا مُعَانُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ: كَمِ الأَنْبِيَاءُ؟ قَالَ مِائَةُ أَلْفٍ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ أَلْفًا، الرُّسُلُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ: ثَلاثُمِائَةٍ وَخَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ جَمًّا غَفِيرًا.
