the heavens and the earth.
He said: His knowledge. It was reported from Sa'id b. Jubayr similarly.
The Second Perspective:
And it is one of the opinions of Ibn 'Abbas.
2600 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab b. al-Harith reported to us, Bishr b. 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth." They said: If the seven heavens and the seven earths were spread out, then joined one to another, there would not be in its expanse—meaning: the Kursi—except like a ring in a desert.
2601 - Abu Sa'id b. Yahya b. Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri reported to us, from Sufyan, from Qamar al-Duhni, from Muslim al-Butin, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: The Kursi is the place of His two feet.
The Third Perspective:
2602 - Abu Sa'id b. Yahya b. Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah b. Musa reported to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth," he said: The Kursi is beneath the Throne ('Arsh).
2603 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi: As for "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth," the heavens and the earth are within the cavity of the Kursi, and the Kursi is before the Throne.
2604 - Muhammad b. 'Ammar narrated to us, Ishaq b. Sulayman reported to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi reported to us, from al-Rabi' b. Anas, he said: When "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth" was revealed, they said: O Messenger of Allah, this is the Kursi, [being] like this, so how is the Throne? Then Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, revealed: "And they have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be [within] His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand."
