His saying, the Exalted: "Or like the one who passed by a village."
[The First Interpretation]
2641 - 'Isam b. Rawwad narrated to us, Adam reported to us, Isra'il reported to us, from Abu Ishaq al-Hamadani, from Najiyah b. Ka'b al-Asadi, from 'Ali b. Abi Talib regarding His saying: "Or like the one who passed by a village," he said: 'Uzayr, the Prophet of Allah, went out from his city while he was a young man. He passed by a ruined village and said: "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?"
It was narrated from al-Hasan, al-Suddi, Ibn Buraydah, and Qatadah that it was 'Uzayr.
The Second Interpretation:
2642 - My father narrated to us, he said: I heard Sulayman b. Muhammad al-Aslami al-Sayyari al-Jari, from the people of al-Jar, the cousin of Mutarrif, saying: I heard a man from the people of al-Sham saying: "The one whom Allah caused to die for a hundred years and then resurrected is named: Hizqil b. Buza."
The Third Interpretation:
2643 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah b. Qays reported to us, from 'Abd Allah b. 'Ubayd b. 'Umayr: That he was a prophet, and his name was Irmiya.
Mujahid said: "A man from the Children of Israel." And something similar was narrated from Wahb b. Munabbih.
His saying, the Exalted: "By a village."
2644 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, Sa'id b. Bashir narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding the saying of Allah: "Or like the one who passed by a village," he said: "We used to be told that it was 'Uzayr, who came to Jerusalem (Bayt al-Maqdis) after Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian had destroyed it." Something similar was narrated from al-Dahhak.
His saying: "While it was in ruins."
2645 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Khalid reported to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "While it was in ruins," he said: "Its ruin is its destruction."
2646 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas b. al-Walid informed us, Yazid b. Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "While it was in ruins," he said: "There was no one in it."
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ

٢٦٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ ثنا إسرائيل، عن أبي إسحاق الهمداني، عن نَاجِيَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَى قرية قال: خرج عزيز نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ مِنْ مَدِينَتِهِ وَهُوَ شَابٌّ، فَمَرَّ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ خَرِبَةٍ، فَقَالَ:
أَنَّى يَحْيِي هَذِهِ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ وَقَتَادَةَ: أنه كان عزير.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٢٦٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَسْلَمِيَّ السَّيَّارِيَّ الْجَارِيَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَارِ ابْنِ عَمِّ مُطَرِّفٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَجُلا مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الَّذِيَ أَمَاتَهُ اللَّهُ مِائَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ، اسْمُهُ: حَزْقِيلُ بْنُ بُوزَا.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
٢٦٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ قيس، عن عبد الله بن عبيد ابن عُمَيْرٍ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ نَبِيًّا، وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ: إِرْمِيَا
وَقَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ
٢٦٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ قَالَ: كُنَّا نُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ عُزَيْرٌ، أَتَى عَلَى بيت المقدس بعد ما خَرَّبَهَا بُخْتُنَصَّرُ الْبَابِلِيُّ وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، نَحْوُ ذلك.
قوله: وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ
٢٦٤٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو خَالِدٍ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ قَالَ: خَوَاهَا: خَرَابُهَا.
٢٦٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أبنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَوْلُهُ: وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ قَالَ: لَيْسَ فِيهَا أَحَدٌ.
