His saying: "On its roofs."

2647 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Khalid reported to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "On its roofs," meaning its coverings. Something similar was narrated from al-Suddi.

His saying: "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?"

Bashir narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding the saying of Allah: "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?" He said: "How will He populate this after its destruction?" Something similar was narrated from al-Rabi' b. Anas.

2649 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi that 'Uzayr came from al-Sham on a donkey of his, with him were grapes, juice, and figs. When he passed by the village and saw it, he stopped there and turned his hand, and began to twist his jaw and his fingers and said: "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?" It was not a denial on his part, nor a doubt.

His saying: "So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years."

2650 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, regarding His saying: "So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years," he said: "So Allah caused him to die and caused his donkey to die, and they perished, and one hundred years passed over them."

2651 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhallim reported to us, 'Abd al-Kabir b. 'Abd al-Majid reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?" He said: "This was a man from the Children of Israel who passed by a village while it was in ruins on its roofs. He said: 'How will Allah bring this to life after its death?' He said: So Allah punished him for that saying of his: 'So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years,' and his donkey was standing next to him, neither fed nor watered until a hundred years had passed over him, with his food and drink next to him. That is one hundred years."

2652 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar reported to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "How will Allah bring this to life after its death? So Allah caused him to die," at the beginning of the day. He remained for one hundred years, then He resurrected him.
