[His saying, the Exalted: "And to make you a sign for the people"]

2673 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad b. 'Isa b. al-Taba' reported to us, Ibrahim b. 'Uyaynah reported to us, from Abu Talib al-Qass, from 'Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "And to make you a sign for the people," he said: He was resurrected at the age of one hundred and forty, as a young man, while his children were one hundred years old and were elders.

2674 - My father narrated to me, 'Ali b. Muhammad al-Tanafisi reported to us, saying: Ibrahim b. 'Uyaynah reported the like of it, and Abu 'Abd Allah al-Taymi, from al-A'mash, from a man, from 'Abd Allah, reported the like of it.

It was narrated from al-Minhal b. 'Amr and al-A'mash that they said: He came as a young man, and his children were elders.

2675 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhallim reported to us, 'Abd al-Kabir b. 'Abd al-Majid reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And to make you a sign for the people," he said: He was a servant whom Allah benefited by what He showed him as a lesson regarding his own self, and He made him a sign for the people.

And the third interpretation:

2676 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, meaning His saying: "And to make you a sign for the people," he said: He returned to his family and found that his house had been sold and rebuilt, and everyone who used to know him had passed away. He said: "Leave my house." They said: "And who are you?" He said: "I am 'Uzayr." They said: "Has not 'Uzayr perished since such and such a time?" He said: "But I am he, such was my state, and such was..." When they recognized that, they left the house for him and handed it over to him.

His saying: "A sign (ayah)"

2677 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Ja'far reported to us, from al-Rabi' b. Anas, regarding His saying: "A sign," he says: A lesson.

His saying: "And look at the bones, how We bring them together"

2678 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab b. al-Harith reported to us, Bishr b. 'Umarah reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And look at the bones, how We bring them together (nunshizuha)," meaning: We raise them up, organ by organ.
