He said: So that is His saying: "except with eyes closed regarding it." How then can you accept for Me what you do not accept for yourselves, when My right upon you is from the best and most precious of your wealth?
2805 - My father narrated to us, Muqatil b. Muhammad reported to us, Waki' reported to us, from 'Imran b. Hudayr, from al-Hasan regarding: "and you would not take it yourselves except with eyes closed regarding it," he said: If you found it being sold in the market, you would not buy it unless it was discounted from the price.
2806 - Al-Hasan b. 'Ali b. 'Affan narrated to us, Yahya b. Adam reported to us, Qays b. al-Rabi' reported to us, from 'Ata' b. al-Sa'ib, from 'Abd Allah b. Ma'qil, regarding "except with eyes closed regarding it," he said: Be lenient concerning it.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And know that Allah is Free of need, Praiseworthy."
2807 - Abu Sa'id b. Yahya al-Qattan narrated to us, 'Amr al-'Anqazi reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, from 'Adi b. Thabit, from al-Bara' b. 'Azib: "And know that Allah is Free of need" of your charities.
2808 - I read to Muhammad b. al-Mufaddal, Muhammad b. 'Ali reported to us, Muhammad b. Muzahim informed us, from Bukayr b. Ma'ruf, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And know that Allah is Free of need" in His dominion, of what is with you.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Satan"
2809 - My father narrated to us, al-Nufayli reported to us, Muhammad b. Salamah reported to us, from Khusayf, regarding His saying: "Satan," he said: He is Iblis.
His saying: "threatens you with poverty"
2810 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Hannad b. al-Sari reported to us, Abu al-Ahwas reported to us, from 'Ata' b. al-Sa'ib, from Murrah al-Hamdani, from 'Abd Allah b. Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Satan has a touch (lammah) upon the son of Adam, and the angels have a touch. As for the touch of Satan, it is a threatening with evil and a denial of the truth. As for the touch of the angels, it is a promise of good and a confirmation of the truth. So whoever finds that, let him know it is from Allah, so let him praise Allah; and whoever finds the other, let him seek refuge in Allah from Satan," then he recited: "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty."(1)
