The fourth interpretation:
2825 - My father narrated to us, Qabisah reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding "He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good," he said: It is precision in speech.
The fifth interpretation:
2826 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Muhammad b. Bishr reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Abu Hamzah, from Ibrahim, regarding "and whoever has been given wisdom," he said: It is understanding.
The sixth interpretation:
2827 - Abu Bakr b. Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun b. Hatim reported to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Hammad reported to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding his saying: "wisdom," he said: It is the Sunnah.
The seventh interpretation:
2828 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding his saying: "and whoever has been given wisdom," he said: Wisdom is prophethood.
The eighth interpretation:
2829 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Tahir reported to us, Ibn Wahb reported to us, Malik b. Anas narrated to us, he said: Zayd b. Aslam said: Wisdom is intellect. Malik said: It occurs to my heart that wisdom is jurisprudence (fiqh) in the religion of Allah and a matter that Allah places into the hearts from His mercy and His bounty. What clarifies that is that you find a man intellectually gifted in worldly affairs when he considers them, and you find another who is weak in his worldly affairs but knowledgeable in his religious affairs, insightful regarding them; Allah gives it to him and denies it to the former. So wisdom is: Jurisprudence (fiqh) in the religion of Allah.
