2881 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Zayd b. Hubab reported to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Shurayh reported to us, Qays b. al-Hajjaj narrated to me, Hanash al-San'ani narrated to me, saying: I heard Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and publicly," he said: They are those who provide fodder for horses in the cause of Allah. It has been narrated from Abu Umamah, Sa'id b. al-Musayyib, and Makhul, something similar to this.
The Second Aspect:
2882 - Abu Sa'id b. Yahya b. Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, 'Umar b. Harun (meaning: Sahib al-Kari') reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Mis'ar, from 'Awn, who said: A man read: "Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and publicly," and said: It was only four dirhams; so he spent a dirham by night, a dirham by day, a dirham secretly, and a dirham publicly.
2883 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Yahya b. Yaman reported to us, from 'Abd al-Wahhab b. Mujahid, from his father, who said: 'Ali had four dirhams; he spent a dirham by night, a dirham by day, a dirham secretly, and a dirham publicly, so it was revealed: "Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and publicly."
The Third Aspect:
2884 - 'Abd Allah b. Sulayman b. al-Ash'ath narrated to us, Ham b. Nuh reported to us, Abu Mu'adh reported to us, Abu Muslih reported to us, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and publicly," he said: This was before Zakat was made obligatory.
His saying, the Exalted: "So they will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve."
2885 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Ishaq b. Isma'il, the Shaykh of Busra, reported to us, Yazid b. Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "So they will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve," he said: These are the people of Paradise.
