[Continuation of Surat al-Baqarah]

[His saying: From 'Arafat]

1854 - Muhammad b. Dawud al-Simnani narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Thabit b. Hurmuz, meaning Abu al-Miqdam.

His saying: "Then remember Allah at the Sacred Monument (al-Mash'ar al-Haram)."

1855 - 'Amr b. 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from his father, and Isra'il, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Amr b. Maymun, who said: I asked 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr about the Sacred Monument. He remained silent until the hands of our mounts descended into Muzdalifah, then he said: Where is the one asking about the Sacred Monument? This is the Sacred Monument.

1856 - Isma'il b. Yahya b. Kaysan, companion of Abu Mas'ud b. al-Furat, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, who said: Ibn 'Umar said: The Sacred Monument is the entirety of Muzdalifah.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas, Ibn 'Umar, Sa'id b. Jubayr, 'Ikrimah, Mujahid, al-Hasan, al-Suddi, Qatadah, and al-Rabi' b. Anas, that it is [the area] between the two mountains.

1857 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Ibrahim b. 'Abd Allah b. Bashshar al-Wasiti narrated to us, Surur b. al-Mughirah narrated to us, from 'Abbad b. Mansur, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "Then remember Allah at the Sacred Monument," he said: The Sacred Monument is Jam' [Muzdalifah]. He commanded them to remember Him at the Sacred Monument when they poured forth from 'Arafat, just as He guided them.

His saying: "And remember Him, as He has guided you."

1858 - It was mentioned from Abu Usamah, from Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal, from Muhammad b. 'Ubayd Allah b. al-Zubayr: "And remember Him, as He has guided you," he said: This is not general; this is for the people of the [Holy] City.

His saying: "And indeed, you were, before this, among the astray."

It was mentioned from Qabisah, from Sufyan: "And indeed, you were, before this, among the astray," he said: Before the Qur'an.

1859 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Among the astray," he said: Among the ignorant."
