2980 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, Bukayr b. Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding His saying: "let his guardian dictate with justice," meaning: the one seeking the right.

2981 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. 'Abd Allah b. Bukayr reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' b. Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "let his guardian dictate with justice," meaning: the claimant, and he shall not add anything.
His saying: "with justice"

2982 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' b. Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "and bring to witness," meaning: concerning your right. It is also narrated from al-Rabi' b. Anas something similar.
[The second interpretation]
2983 - Usayd b. 'Asim narrated to us, al-Husayn reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding this verse: "and bring to witness," he said: If he sells for cash (he brings a witness and does not write), and if he sells on credit, he writes and brings a witness.
His saying, the Exalted: "two witnesses from your men"

2984 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Bukayr al-Nakha'i reported to us, from Layth, from Mujahid: "and bring to witness two witnesses from your men," he said: Two free witnesses, and not two slaves, for they are two men, as Allah has named them.

٢٩٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُ بالعدل: ولي طالبه.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
٢٩٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُ بِالْعَدْلِ يَعْنِي: الطَّالِبَ وَلا يَزْدَادُ شَيْئًا.

٢٩٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا يَعْنِي: عَلَى حَقِّكُمْ وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٢٩٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا قَالَ: إِذَا بَاعَ بِالنَّقْدِ (أَشْهَدَ وَلَمْ يَكْتُبْ) «١» وَإِذَا بَاعَ بِالنَّسِيئَةِ، كَتَبَ وَأَشْهَدَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: شهيدين من رجالكم

٢٩٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو بُكَيْرٍ النَّخَعِيُّ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «٢»
وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَهِيدَيْنِ من رجالكم قال: شاهدين حرين وليس العبدين رجلان، هما عبدين كَمَا سَمَّاهُمَا اللَّهُ.
