al-Qasim, from al-'Ala', from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, regarding "And burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear," he said: Yes.
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas, al-Dahhak, Muhammad b. Ka'b, and al-Suddi that he said: Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, says: I have done so. Sa'id b. Jubayr said: I will not burden you with it.

3104 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan b. Salih reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, Bukayr b. Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding the saying of Allah: "And burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear" of punishment, so that You make us like those whom You made into apes and swine, and punish us as You punished them. Gabriel said: He has done so, and it has been answered for you. It was narrated from Ibn Jurayj similarly.
The Third Aspect:
3105 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-Salam b. Muhammad al-Hadrami reported to us, al-Walid b. Muslim reported to us, from Ibn Thawban, from his father, from Makhul, regarding His saying: "Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear," he said: Exile (1) and intense sexual desire (2).
3106 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-Salam b. Muhammad al-Hadrami reported to us, al-Walid b. Muslim reported to us, Ibn Shu'ayb reported to us, from Ibn Thawban, from his father, from Makhul, who said: Erection (3).
3107 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, he said: Asbat claimed, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear" of the severity and the shackles that were upon them from the prohibitions.

3108 - 'Ali b. Harb narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl reported to us, from 'Ata' b. al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding the saying of Allah, Exalted is He: "And pardon us," he said: I have pardoned you. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah, Muhammad b. Ka'b, and Sa'id b. Jubayr similarly.
The Second Aspect:
3109 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, Bukayr b. Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding the saying of Allah: "And pardon us," he said: Grant us immunity from that.
(1). Displacement from the homeland. (2). That which drives sexual desire in both men and women. (3). An intense matter.
الْقَاسِمِ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَلا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ قَالَ:
نَعَمْ.
وَرَوَى ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَالضَّحَّاكُ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ وَالسُّدِّيُّ، قَالَ: يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: قَدْ فَعَلْتُ وَقَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ: لا أحمله عليكم.

٣١٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَلا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ، فَتَجْعَلَنَا كَمَا جَعَلْتَهُمْ قِرَدَةً وَخَنَازِيرَ، وَتُعَذِّبُنَا كَمَا عَذَّبْتَهُمْ. فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ:
قَدْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ، وَاسْتُجِيبَ لَكُمْ. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

٣١٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عن مكحول، في قوله: رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ قَالَ: الْغُرْبَةُ «١» وَالْغُلْمَةُ «٢» .
٣١٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا ابْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، قَالَ: الإِنْعَاظُ «٣» .
٣١٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: زَعَمَ أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: وَلا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ مِنَ التَّغْلِيظِ وَالأَغْلالِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ التَّحْرِيمِ

٣١٠٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثنا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَاعْفُ عَنَّا قَالَ: قَدْ عَفَوْتُ عَنْكُمْ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٣١٠٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَاعْفُ عَنَّا قال: عافنا من ذلك.
(١) . النزوح عن الوطن.(٢) . يدبحان الشهوة عند الرجل والمرأة.(٣) . الأمر الشديد.
