His saying (the Exalted): Allah
3122 - Al-Hasan b. Muhammad b. al-Sabah narrated to us, Isma'il b. 'Ulayyah reported to us, from Abu Raja', a man narrated to me, from Jabir b. Zayd that he said: "The Greatest Name of Allah is Allah. Have you not heard that He says: 'He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful'?"
His saying (the Exalted): "Allah, there is no god except Him."
3123 - It was read to Yunus b. 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: And 'Umar b. Muhammad also narrated to me, from Suhayl b. Abi Salih, from his father, al-Saluli informed me, from Ka'b, who said: "'There is no god but Allah' is the word of sincerity (al-ikhlas)."
3124 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' regarding His saying: "Alif. Lam. Mim. Allah! There is no god except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer," he said: "The Christians came to the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and disputed with him regarding 'Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam, and they said: 'Who is his father?' They spoke a lie and slander against Allah: 'There is no god but Allah; He has not taken a partner nor a son.' The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to them: 'Do you not know that our Lord is Ever-Living and does not die, and that 'Isa is subject to extinction?' They replied: 'Yes.' He said: 'Do you not know that our Lord is the Sustainer of everything, protecting it, preserving it, and providing for it?' They replied: 'Yes.' He said: 'Does 'Isa possess any of that?' They replied: 'No.' He said: 'Do you not know that nothing is hidden from Allah in the earth or in the heaven?' They replied: 'Yes.' He said: 'Does 'Isa know anything of that except what he has been taught?' They replied: 'No.' He said: 'For our Lord formed 'Isa in the womb however He willed. Do you not know that our Lord does not eat food, nor drink drink, nor does He relieve Himself?' They replied: 'Yes.' He said: 'Do you not know that 'Isa was carried by his mother just as a woman carries [a child], then she delivered him just as a woman delivers her child, then he was nourished just as a boy is nourished, then he used to eat food, drink drink, and relieve himself?' They replied: 'Yes.' He said: 'So how can this be as you have claimed?' They understood, but they refused except to persist in denial. So Allah revealed: 'Alif. Lam. Mim. Allah! There is no god except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer.'"
3125 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salama reported to us, he said: Muhammad b.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: اللَّهُ
٣١٢٢ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: اسْمُ اللَّهِ الأَعْظَمُ هُوَ اللَّهُ، أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ أَنَّهُ يَقُولُ:
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمِ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ
٣١٢٣ - قُرِئَ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي أَيْضًا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي السَّلُولِيُّ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ قَالَ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ كَلِمَةُ الإِخْلاصِ.
٣١٢٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ قَوْلُهُ: الم اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ القيوم قال: إن النصارى أتو النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَخَاصَمُوهُ فِي عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ، وَقَالُوا: مَنْ أَبُوهُ؟
فَقَالُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَالْبُهْتَانَ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلا وَلَدًا، فَقَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَبَّنَا حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ، وَأَنَّ عِيسَى يَأْتِي عَلَيْهِ الْفِنَاءُ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى. قَالَ: أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَبَّنَا قَيِّمٌ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يَكْلأُهُ وَيَحْفَظُهُ وَيَرْزُقُهُ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى. قَالَ: فَهَلْ يَمْلِكُ عيسى من ذلك شيء؟ قَالُوا: لَا، قَالَ: أَفْلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلا فِي السَّمَاءِ؟ قَالُوا بَلَى: قَالَ: فَهَلْ يَعْلَمُ عيسى من ذلك شيء إِلا مَا عُلِّمَ؟ قَالُوا لَا: قَالَ: فَإِنَّ رَبَّنَا صَوَّرَ عِيسَى فِي الرَّحِمِ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ، أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَبَّنَا لَا يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَلا يَشْرَبُ الشَّرَابَ وَلا يُحْدِثُ الْحَدَثَ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ عِيسَى حَمَلْتَهُ أُمُّهُ كَمَا تَحْمِلُ الْمَرْأَةُ ثُمَّ وَضَعَتْهُ كَمَا تَضَعُ الْمَرْأَةُ وَلَدَهَا، ثُمَّ غُذِّيَ كَمَا يُغَذَّى الصَّبِيُّ، ثُمَّ كَانَ يُطْعَمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَيَشْرَبُ الشَّرَابَ وَيُحْدِثُ الْحَدَثَ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: فَكَيْفَ يَكُونَ هَذَا كَمَا زَعَمْتُمْ؟ فَعَرَفُوا ثُمَّ أَبَوْا إِلا جُحُودًا، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ: الم اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ.
