Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and through it, He distinguished between truth and falsehood, explained His religion therein, ordained His laws therein, made lawful His lawful, prohibited His prohibited, established His boundaries, commanded His obedience, and forbade His disobedience.

3147 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam reported to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And He revealed the Criterion," he said: "It is a Book in truth."

3148 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Uthman b. Abi Shayba reported to us, my father reported to us, from Isma'il, from Abu Salih regarding "the Criterion" (al-Furqan), he said: "The Torah."

His saying (the Exalted): "Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah, they will have a severe punishment."

3149 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' b. Anas regarding His saying: "Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah, they will have a severe punishment," he said: "It means the Christians."

3150 - Ahmad b. 'Uthman b. Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad b. al-Mufaddal reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "in the verses of Allah," he said: "In Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him."

3151 - My father narrated to us, Hisham b. Khalid reported to us, Shu'ayb b. Ishaq reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatada: His saying: "punishment," meaning: the punishment of the Hereafter.

His saying (the Exalted): "And Allah is Exalted in Might, Owner of Retribution."

3152 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan b. al-Rabi' reported to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq regarding His saying: "And Allah is Exalted in Might, Owner of Retribution," he said: "Exalted in Might, possessor of severe force." And by the same chain from Ibn Ishaq regarding His saying: "Owner of Retribution," meaning: against whom He wills.

3153 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salama reported to us, he said: Muhammad b. Ishaq said regarding His saying: "And Allah is Exalted in Might, Owner of Retribution," meaning: that Allah is an Avenger against those who disbelieve in His verses after having known them and having recognized what came from Him regarding them.

His saying (the Exalted): "Indeed, from Allah nothing is hidden in the earth nor in the heaven."
