1975 - 'Ali b. al-Mubarak informed us in what he wrote to me, Zayd narrated to us, Ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj regarding: "And they mock those who believe," he said: "For their seeking of the Hereafter." Ibn Jurayj said:
And others said: Quraysh said: "If Muhammad were a prophet, our masters and noblemen would have followed him. By Allah, no one followed him except those in need, like Ibn Mas'ud and his companions."
His saying: "And those who feared [Allah] are above them"
1976 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding: "And those who feared [Allah] are above them," he said: "Above them in Paradise."
His saying, Exalted is He: "On the Day of Resurrection"
1977 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, al-Hasan b. 'Amr Bayya' al-Sabiri informed us, Yazid b. Zuray' informed us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And those who feared [Allah] are above them on the Day of Resurrection," that is where the superiority is.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account."
[The first interpretation]
1978 - It was mentioned from Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, from al-Hiql, from al-Awza'i, from 'Ata' who said: I asked Ibn 'Abbas about this verse: "And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account," he said:
Its interpretation is: There is no watcher over Allah, nor anyone to hold Him to account.
1979 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim b. Musa and 'Abd Allah b. 'Imran b. 'Ali al-Asadi narrated to us, both saying: Yahya b. Yaman narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from Ja'far, from Sa'id b. Jubayr regarding: "Without account," he said: "The Lord is not held to account."
The second interpretation:
1980 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah b. Ja'far al-Raqqi narrated to us, Abu al-Malih narrated to us, from Maymun b. Mihran regarding: "Without account," he said: "Abundantly." It was narrated from al-Walid b. Qays something similar to that.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Mankind was [of] one nation"
1981 - Muhammad b. 'Abd al-Rahman al-Harawi narrated to us, Abu Dawud al-Hafari narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid regarding: "Mankind was [of] one nation," he said: "Adam." It was narrated from al-Thawri similar to that.
