His saying: "One nation"
1982 - 'Isam b. Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy b. Ka'b, regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Mankind was [of] one nation," he said: "They were one nation when they were presented to Adam, and Allah created them on that day with an innate disposition (fitrah) for Islam, and they acknowledged to Him their servitude, and they were one nation, all of them Muslims; then they differed after Adam."
1983 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Shayban b. Farrukh narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Mankind was [of] one nation," he said: "They were disbelievers, so Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners."
His saying, Exalted is He: "So Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners"
1984 - 'Isam b. Rawwad narrated to us, Adam, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy b. Ka'b that he used to recite it: "Mankind was one nation [so they differed], then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners." And indeed, Allah only sent the messengers and revealed the Book after the disagreement.
1985 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah: "So Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners." The first prophet to be sent was Nuh (Noah), may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
1986 - al-Husayn b. al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim b. 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Hajjaj informed us, from Ibn Jurayj who said: "Between Adam and Nuh were ten prophets. Then Allah sent the prophets, and He spread mankind from Adam, then He sent among them the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners."
1987 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, al-Hasan b. 'Amr Bayya' al-Sabiri informed us, Yazid b. Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "So Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners," he says: "They were all upon a law (shari'ah) of the truth."
His saying, Exalted is He: "And He sent down with them the Scripture in truth"
1988 - 'Isam b. Rawwad narrated to us, Adam, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy b. Ka'b, regarding His saying: "And He sent down with them the Scripture in truth," he said: "He sent down the Scripture at the time of the disagreement."

١٩٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً قَالَ: كَانُوا أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً حَيْثُ عُرِضُوا عَلَى آدَمَ، فَفَطَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الإِسْلامِ وَأَقَرُّوا لَهُ بالْعُبُودِيَّةِ، وَكَانُوا أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً مُسْلِمَيْنِ كُلَّهُمْ، ثُمَّ اخْتَلَفُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ آدَمَ
١٩٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، ثنا هَمَّامٌ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلُهُ: كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً قَالَ: كَانُوا كُفَّارًا فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ
١٩٨٤ - حدثنا عصام بن رواد ثنا آدم أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا: كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُوا فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ إِنَّمَا بَعَثَ الرُّسُلَ وَأَنْزَلَ الْكِتَابَ بَعْدَ الاخْتِلافِ.
١٩٨٥ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ:
فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ نَبِيٍّ بُعِثَ نُوحٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
١٩٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أنبأ حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: كَانَ بَيْنَ آدَمَ وَنُوحٍ، عَشَرَةُ أَنْبِيَاءَ فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ، وَنَشَرَ مِنْ آدَمَ النَّاسَ فَبَعَثَ فِيهِمُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ.
١٩٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو بَيَّاعٌ السَّابِرِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ يَقُولُ: كَانُوا عَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِنَ الْحَقِّ كُلُّهُمْ.
قوله تَعَالَى وَأَنْزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ
