His saying, the Exalted: "But if they turn away, then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers."

3407 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "But if they turn away," meaning: the disbelievers turned away from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

3408 - Abu Muhammad b. Bint al-Shafi'i informed us in what he wrote to me, from his father or from his paternal uncle, from Sufyan b. 'Uyaynah regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah does not like," he said: He does not draw near.

3409 - Muhammad narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, he said: Muhammad b. Ishaq said: "But if they turn away" in their disbelief, "then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers."

His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah chose."

3410 - Abu Bakr b. Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun b. Hatim reported to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Hammad reported to us, from Asbat b. Nasr, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik regarding His saying: "Chose" (istafa), meaning: selected.

3411 - Al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam reported to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah." He said: Allah favored them over the worlds through prophethood over all people; they were the prophets and the righteous ones, the obedient to their Lord.

3412 - Ahmad b. Mansur al-Marwudhi narrated to us, al-Nadr b. Shumayl reported to us, Abu Na'amah al-Sa'di informed us, Abu Hunaydah al-Bara' b. Nawfal reported to us, from Walan al-'Adawi, from Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman, from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, woke up one day and prayed the morning prayer, then he said: "Whatever is to be of the affair of this world and the Hereafter was displayed to me. The first and the last will be gathered on a single level surface." The people were interrupted like that, until they reached Adam, and they said: "O Adam, you are the father of mankind, and you are the one whom Allah chose (istafaka), intercede for us with your Lord." He said: "I have encountered the like of what you have encountered; indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of Imran over the worlds," and he mentioned the hadith in its entirety [1].
