His saying, the Exalted: "And indeed, I seek refuge for her in You."

3432 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Ma'mar reported to us, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyib, and from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no newborn who is born but that the Shaytan touches him, so he starts crying from the touch of the Shaytan upon him, except for Maryam and her son." Then Abu Hurayrah says: Recite if you wish: "And I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]."

His saying, the Exalted: "And [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]."

3433 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' reported to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq reported to us regarding His saying: "And [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]," [meaning] that 'Isa is from that offspring; they had known that Maryam did not have a child according to what was made ambiguous to them.

3434 - Abu Bakr b. Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun b. Hatim reported to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Hammad reported to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik regarding His saying: "al-Rajim" (the expelled), meaning: the cursed.

His saying, the Exalted: "So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance."

3435 - Muhammad b. 'Ubayd Allah b. al-Munadi narrated to us, Yunus b. Muhammad reported to us, al-Hakam b. al-Salt reported to us, who said: I asked Shurahbil b. Sa'd about His saying: "So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance," and he said: Allah accepted their female [child] for them to place her in the temple (Bay'ah).

3436 - Musa b. Harun al-Tusi informed me in what he wrote to me, Husayn al-Marwudhi reported to us, Shayban reported to us, from Qatadah, regarding "So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner," he said: It was narrated to us that they both [Mary and Jesus] would not commit sins as the sons of Adam commit them, and that the Prophet of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him), used to walk on water just as he would walk on land due to the certainty (Yaqin) and sincerity (Ikhlas) that Allah had granted him.

His saying, the Exalted: "And caused her to grow in a good manner."

3437 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam reported to us, 'Abd al-Kabir informed us, 'Abbad b. Mansur narrated to us, who said: I asked al-Hasan, and he said: "Her Lord accepted her with good acceptance, and caused her to grow in a good manner," and the people cast lots over her, and Zakariyya was chosen by the lot."
