3450 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring," he said: He stood and prayed, then supplicated to Allah in secret, and said: "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."

His saying, the Exalted: "A good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."

3451 - And through the same chain from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring," he says: Blessed, "Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."

3452 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Ma'mar reported to us, from Qatadah, he said: Then the angels spoke to him about that directly.

3454 - My father mentioned it, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami reported to us, Ja'far b. Sulayman reported to us, he said: I heard Thabit say: The service of Allah on earth is prayer, and if Allah knew of anything better than it, He would not have said: "Then the angels called to him, while he was standing, praying in the chamber."

His saying, the Exalted: "That Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya"

3455 - Musa b. Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn b. Muhammad al-Marwudhi reported to us, Shayban reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "That Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya," he said: A servant whom Allah brought to life through faith.
