3487 - And with the same chain, from Mujahid regarding: "And the morning," he said: The morning is the beginning of dawn.

His saying, the Exalted: "And when the angels said, O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you."

3488 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurayrah regarding His saying: "O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you, and chosen you above the women of the worlds." He said: Abu Hurayrah used to narrate to the people from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: "The best of women who rode camels are the righteous women of Quraysh; they are the most affectionate to their children in their youth, and the most watchful over their husband's wealth." Abu Hurayrah said: And Mary never rode a camel.

His saying, the Exalted: "And purified you."

3489 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And purified you," he said: He made you pure in faith.

And the second aspect:

3490 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Haytham b. Yaman reported to us, al-Hakam reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding: "O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you," from menstruation. Abu Muhammad said: Similar to this was narrated from 'Ikrimah.

His saying, the Exalted: "And chosen you above the women of the worlds."

3491 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Haytham b. al-Yaman reported to us, al-Hakam reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding: "And chosen you above the women of the worlds," he said: Above the women of that time in which they lived.
