3513 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan b. al-Rabi' reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Idris reported to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq narrated to us: He said: Then He informed him of the story of Mary and 'Isa when He began it from the honor of Allah through what He had granted her: "When the angels said, 'O Mary, indeed Allah gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, 'Isa, son of Mary.'"
His saying, the Exalted: "of a word from Him"
3514 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki' reported to us, from Isra'il, from Simak, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "of a word from Him," he said: 'Isa is a word from Allah, meaning: he will be a word from Allah.
3515 - My father narrated to us, Ibn al-Rabi' reported to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, from Muhammad b. Ishaq: "When the angels said, 'O Mary, indeed Allah gives you glad tidings of a word from Him,'" meaning: with a son who has no father.
His saying, the Exalted: "whose name is the Messiah"
3516 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki' reported to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, he said: The Messiah is the Truthful One (al-Siddiq).
3517 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Tahir reported to us, Ibn Wahb informed us, 'Amr b. al-Harith informed me that Sa'id b. Abi Hilal narrated to him that Yahya b. 'Abd al-Rahman al-Thaqafi narrated to him that 'Isa b. Maryam, peace be upon him, was a wanderer (sa'ihan), and that is why he was called the Messiah (al-Masih); he would spend the evening in one land and the morning in another land, and that he did not marry until he was raised up.
His saying, the Exalted: "'Isa, son of Mary"
3518 - Ahmad b. 'Isam al-Ansari narrated to us, Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri reported to us, Isra'il reported to us, from Simak, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: There was no one among the prophets who had two names except for 'Isa and Muhammad, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon them both.
His saying, the Exalted: "honored in the world and the Hereafter"
3519 - Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan reported to us, Salamah reported to us, he said: Muhammad b. Ishaq said: His saying: "honored in the world and the Hereafter," meaning: in the sight of Allah.
