3520 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Abi Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' b. Anas regarding His saying: "And among those brought near," in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. Abu Muhammad said: The like of this has been narrated from Qatadah.

His saying, the Exalted: "And he will speak to the people in the cradle"

3521 - Abu al-Saqr Yahya b. Muhammad b. Qaza'ah narrated to us, al-Husayn, meaning al-Marwudhi, reported to us, Jarir, meaning Ibn Hazim, reported to us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him, who said: "None spoke in the cradle except for three: 'Isa, a boy who was in the time of Jurayj, and another boy."

3522 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. Shu'ayb al-Harrani reported to us, Muhammad b. Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad b. Ishaq, from Yazid b. 'Abd Allah b. Qusayt, from Muhammad b. Shurahbil, from Abu Hurayrah, he said: The Prophet, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him, said: "No newborn spoke in his infancy except for 'Isa and the companion of Jurayj."

3523 - al-Husayn b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam reported to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And he will speak to the people in the cradle and in manhood." He said: He spoke to them in the cradle as a child, and he spoke to them as an adult. Abu Muhammad said: The like of this has been narrated from Qatadah and al-Rabi' b. Anas.

His saying, the Exalted: "And in manhood and among the righteous"

3524 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab b. al-Harith reported to us, Bishr b. 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And he will speak to the people in the cradle and in manhood," he said: In the age of adulthood (kahl).

And the second interpretation:

3525 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: His saying: "And in manhood and among the righteous," he says: The kahl (man of maturity) is the gentle/forbearing (al-halim).
