Ishaq: Then he mentioned his being raised by Allah to Him at the time they gathered to kill him. He said: "And they planned, and Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners." Then He informed them and refuted them regarding the claim that the Jews made about crucifying him, and how He raised him and purified him from them, so Allah said: "O Jesus, indeed I will take you."
His saying, the Exalted: "When Allah said, 'O Jesus, indeed I will take you'"
3579 - Abu Bakr b. Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun b. Hatim reported to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "Idh" (when), he said: It means "it was."
His saying, the Exalted: "O Jesus, indeed I will take you"
3580 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Indeed I will take you (inni mutawaffika)," he says: I will cause you to die.
3581 - Muhammad b. al-'Abbas, the mawla of the Banu Hashim, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Salamah reported to us, Salamah reported to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq narrated to me, from one who is not accused, from Wahb b. Munabbih, that he said: Jesus, son of Mary, was taken (died) for three hours of the day when He raised him to Him.
It was narrated from Mujahid that he said: It means He is the One who will do that to him.
The second aspect:
3582 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "Indeed I will take you," he said: I will take you (cause you to leave) the earth.

3583 - My father narrated to us, al-'Abbas b. al-Walid b. Subh al-Khallal reported to us, Marwan—meaning Ibn Muhammad—reported to us, Sa'id b. Bashir reported to us, Qatadah reported to us, regarding His saying: "Indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself," he said: This is from the placed-forward and the delayed (i.e., inversion), meaning: I will raise you to Myself and take you.
His saying, the Exalted: "And raise you to Myself"
3584 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam reported to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And raise you to Myself," he said: He raised him to Him, and he is with Him in the heaven.
إِسْحَاقَ: ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ رَفْعَهُ عِيسَى إِلَيْهِ حِينَ اجْتَمَعُوا لِقَتْلِهِ قَالَ: وَمَكَرُوا وَمَكَرَ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ، ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَهُمْ وَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فِيمَا أقروا الْيَهُودُ بِصَلْبِهِ كَيْفَ رَفَعَهُ وَطَهَّرَهُ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ: يَا عِيسَى إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ
قَولُهُ تَعَالَى: إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى إني متوفيك
٣٥٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ قَوْلُهُ: إِذْ فَقَدْ كَانَ.
قَولُهُ تَعَالَى: يَا عِيسَى إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ
٣٥٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عن ابن عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ يَقُولُ: إِنِّي مُمِيتُكَ.
٣٥٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَنَ لَا يُتَّهَمُ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
توفى عيسى بن مَرْيَمَ ثَلاثَ سَاعَاتٍ مِنَ النَّهَارِ حِينَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهِ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ:
هُوَ فَاعِلٌ عَلَى ذَلِكَ بِهِ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٣٥٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ قال: متوفيك من الأرض.

٣٥٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ صُبْحٍ الْخَلالُ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِي:
ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ قَالَ: هَذَا مِنَ الْمُقَدَّمِ وَالْمُؤَخِّرِ أَيْ رَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُتَوَفِّيكَ.
قوله تَعَالَى: وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ
٣٥٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحْكَمٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ قَالَ: رَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ عِنْدَهُ فِي السَّمَاءِ.
