3727 - Muhammad b. Isma'il al-Ahmasi, Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj, and 'Amr al-Awdi narrated to us, they said: Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "There are three whom Allah will not speak to, nor will He look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment: An aged adulterer, a lying king, and an arrogant poor person."

3728 - Al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "Those will have no share in the Hereafter, and Allah will not speak to them, nor will He look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment." He said: These are a people who sold their share for the worldly life, and he said: Allah has informed you how He will deal with them.

The Second Aspect:

3729 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad al-Musaffa narrated to us, Baqiyyah narrated to us, Arta'ah b. al-Mundhir narrated to me, from Abu Bishr, from Abu Mas'ud, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said: "Three [are] in the Mansa (reproach/dust) under the foot of the Most Merciful on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them, nor will He purify them." I said: O Messenger of Allah, who are they? Clarify them for us. He said: "The denier of Allah's decrees, the habitual drinker of wine, and the one who disowns his child."

3730 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab b. al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr b. 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, concerning His saying: "a painful punishment," he says: a torment that causes pain.

His saying, the Exalted: "painful"

[The First Aspect]

3731 - Muhammad b. Sa'd al-'Awfi informed me, in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, my father narrated to me from my grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas, concerning His saying: "And indeed, there is among them a party," and they are the Jews. Abu Muhammad said: Something similar to this has been narrated from al-Rabi' b. Anas and Qatadah.
