2029 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr b. Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And aversion from the way of Allah and disbelief in Him," [meaning] when you disbelieved in Allah and averted Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions from Him.
His saying: "And [aversion from] the Sacred Mosque."
2030 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, and 'Uthman al-Jazari, from Miqsam, the mawla (freed slave) of Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And the Sacred Mosque," he says: "And aversion from the Sacred Mosque."
His saying: "And the expulsion of its people therefrom."
2031 - Muhammad b. Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And the expulsion of its people therefrom," [refers to] the expulsion of the people of the Sacred Mosque from it.
Musa b. Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn b. Muhammad al-Marrudhi narrated to us, Shayban b. 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Qatadah: "And the expulsion of its people therefrom," he said: "The expulsion of Muhammad and his companions from Mecca is greater before Allah than fighting in the Sacred Month."
His saying, the Exalted: "Greater before Allah."
2032 - Muhammad b. Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle al-Husayn narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas: He means His saying: "Greater before Allah," [meaning] greater than the fighting that afflicted the companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
2033 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, and 'Uthman al-Jazari, from Miqsam, the mawla (freed slave) of Ibn 'Abbas: "And the expulsion of its people therefrom" [is] greater than your killing of 'Amr al-Hadrami.
His saying, the Exalted: "And fitnah (tribulation/persecution)."
2034 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd Allah b. Idris narrated to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq narrated to us, from al-Zuhri and Yazid b. Ruman, from 'Urwah b. al-Zubayr: "And fitnah is greater than killing," meaning: They used to persecute you regarding your religion while you were in the sacred sanctuary of Allah, so that you would disbelieve after your belief, and this is greater before Allah than your killing them in the Sacred Month.
